Freeing the Holy Grail

Saturday, February 9, 2013

If I allow it to be true that I am whole and complete then the world around me falls away.  A world based in need, imbalance and deficit can no longer be my reflection.  If I allow it to be true that I am whole and complete and I see all others as whole and complete, I create and interact from a place without need.  Since the world, its systems, businesses and focus have been based in need, it now disappears and I find myself in in the wholeness of Nature….pared to my own nature…cleansed of all that which is not mine.  I am whole and complete within my own nature.  I am organic….all actions and interactions become organic as well…no plans…no worries…no doubt….no need.

If I allow it to be true that I am whole and complete, I create from my wholeness… I reflect my song…I paint from and as my song…that which I have been protecting for as long as I have been in human form….the most beautiful, delicate – yet eternal – hush inspiring, tear and smile invoking melody…it’s the song of my soul…and if I allow it to be true that I am whole and complete then I release all protections knowing my song is eternal…and I create from this song…from wholeness I create as this unique melody which has been buried and hidden for lifetimes…the Holy Grail has been found…. and freed.

Beneath the false facade...the One plays its music...

Friday, February 1, 2013

What if I saw myself and all others as musical instruments…..each uniquely designed and enlivened by the breath of God…the life force of being?  What if I could sense the richness and depth of the music created through the interaction of God-Source-Consciousness and the unique characteristics of my divinely constructed instrument?  What if I took the time to relish the music played by Consciousness through the one-of-a-kind design of others?  Wow…..
When I take the time to consciously s-l-o-w-d-o-w-n, I sense the One in the many…the breath…the life force…God…I see the amazing array of instruments….I feel the joy of Consciousness as it revels in the uniqueness of each one….and I begin to experience myself as a part of the One….seeing the opportunity of Life through the eyes of Consciousness that inhabits my instrument as well as the instrument of others.  My interactions become duets, trios and orchestras…sacred  “jam sessions” of sorts…and my need to dominate, convince or override transforms into a natural harmonizing where the discordant chords are every bit as inspiring and beautiful as the non-discordant….
In these moments of clarity, time ceases to exist and I allow the awesome nature of that of which I am a part to have its way with me….the truth overrides the illusion….and I hear and feel the divine melody performed through the instruments of the many…and I am reminded that no matter the moment…regardless of earthly circumstances…beneath the false façade….the One plays its music….always…
Much love,

Karrie

The Power of Equality

Sunday, January 27, 2013

Last week, I was fortunate to share in an experience with a group of educators at an elementary school.  I was asked to facilitate a series of workshops and this was #2 in the sequence.  The first get-together was entitled “Because I am important…” and was focused on a more conscious understanding of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.  This included recognition of the power we brought with us into this realm in the form of an opportunity (Life), the freedom to choose (Liberty) and an innate urge to follow that which calls us to happiness (pursuit of Happiness).  The question then being, “Am I taking advantage of the power I’ve been given?”  The second gathering bore the title, “Now that I understand you…” and the focus was equality.

Some of you may remember that in my previous blog I shared “The Hug”.  It was about my experience with a homeless man that brought me to an incredible realization regarding the meaning of equality.  For me, equality is experienced in the acknowledgment of the existence of another face of God.  It is respect for a fellow expression of the One and Only.

During the workshop, the power of equality became very apparent.  The impact of taking a moment to recognize and acknowledge the existence of another Being prior to any interaction is incredible.  The influence of feeling the respect from another for just being is transformative.  All of this became clear to me in this gathering of fellow faces of the One.  In this communal-like realization of equality…the room began to glow.

After experiencing equality, the question naturally arose about disagreement and differences.  How can one maintain a sense of equality AND have interactions with others whom are very different from us.  For me, it became clear that we can do both.  We can hold the consciousness of equality AND not feel threatened by diversity.  When we hold equality, the playing field – within and without – becomes level.  We are ok being who we are…and others feel this same safety.  Conversation becomes a vehicle to understand – not to convince or dominate – and what is created in the conversation is definitely greater than anything any one of us could create by ourselves.

This was an amazing experience for me, to sense and feel the power of equality as a foundation for interaction, co-creation and union was unbelievable.  I realize from this experience that it is the conscious recognition of equality that is a unifying and healing force for humanity.  It is in equality that we find a solution for the troublesome challenges of unhappiness, shadow behavior, violence and tragedy.

The Hug

Tuesday, January 15, 2013

A couple of weeks ago, I had an encounter with a homeless person which has dropped into my consciousness on several occasions as of late.  My experience was one of those which “sticks out” in my mind and continues to draw my attention…it “glows” in some way with a message of sorts.  Yesterday, it dropped in again as I was chatting with my parents. This morning, I feel the need to write about it…to share it…perhaps because I’m finally conscious of the message.

So…a couple of weeks ago as I was walking into one of my favorite fast food restaurants, my attention was called by the “hello” of a homeless man in a wheelchair near the entrance.  I walked over to the railing – of which he was on the other side – and responded with my own “hello” as well as “how are you today?”  He then shared his story and though he didn’t ask for money…I offered it anyway.  He said a prayer for both of us and we said “good-bye”.  As I started to walk away, I felt an urge to hug him.  For the next 3-5 seconds, I questioned this nudge but then gave into it and headed toward him.  I asked him if I could hug him to which he responded affirmatively and with, “we shouldn’t be afraid to hug other people”.  When we hugged, I really felt his response.  And as I walked away, I felt my tears.  How many people go without the hug – the acknowledgement of their existence – by another human being?  How many children, brothers, sisters, moms, dads, grandparents, colleagues, friends, homeless persons….and other expressions of the One and Only go without acknowledgement of their existence?

When we wonder why there is such an increase in human-initiated tragedy, we have no further to look than the frustration, anger and despair of those souls screaming for acknowledgement and love.  We have been trained not to “see” those who don’t fit into the human-created, exclusionary, narrow band of “norms” and “acceptability”.  We value some, celebrate others, put those we deem as “special” on pedestals and ignore the “others”.  Each and every face of the One and Only has gifts, talents and genius.  Each and every expression is deserving of acknowledgement and respect.  We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all [beings] are created equal… with this encounter, I sense I have a deeper understanding of equality.  It’s acknowledgement and respect for a fellow face of God.

Much love,

Karrie

In the Spirit of Utopian Possibility!

Saturday, December 29, 2012

Yesterday, I saw a “petition” on Facebook asking for support of President Obama’s proposal in regard to avoiding the “fiscal cliff”.  For some reason, I wanted to see the comments so I bravely clicked the appropriate “button”.  I shouldn’t have been surprised by the name-calling and finger-pointing that seems to be the extent of many a person’s contribution to the national dialogue.  Considering the dire nature of the current situation, it’s scary to believe “this is what we got”.

When I was working with the union, “negotiating” was a continuous part of the job.  However, even in an environment where “negotiating to find solution” (at least this was my interpretation) was prevalent, it wasn’t out of the ordinary to find those who had a different understanding of the concept.  For many, “negotiating” is about winning; it’s about getting their way no matter the cost or level of nastiness.  It may be my “pollyanna-utopian” perspective, but I sense this “winner-takes-all” paradigm only exists because it’s what we’ve been taught and we haven’t slowed down enough to realize there are other possibilities.  As we move into a “Golden Age” of updated truth and unity, it seems appropriate to take the time to match our beliefs, systems and structures with the overall nature of the times we “sense” and to which we look forward.

As far as the “fiscal cliff” and political parties in general, if you can’t agree upon the presented “solution” – then persevere until one is found to which you CAN agree!  If one party presents a proposal with which the other doesn’t agree, then counter with something different until the finest point at which both can give a nod is found.  We can’t afford to just “take our toys and go home” when our proposal isn’t met with excitement and joy!

In my opinion – and in my perfect world – we would just sit down around the parlor table and converse about the truth beneath our surface-level desires and then “negotiate” to find creative solutions that support that truth!  ( J ) Obviously, we aren’t there yet…..but I maintain a steadfast hope and faith that this is a possibility as we move forward into this Golden Age.

In the Spirit of Solution-Oriented Negotiating and Utopian Possibility!

Something of a More Truthful Nature....

Thursday, December 27, 2012

Last night, my partner and I had dinner at one of my favorite restaurants.  It’s nothing fancy - just good food, good service and a pleasant ambiance.  However, it was noticeable – as it has been for several months – that the life force of the restaurant is dwindling.  The restaurant staff has been speaking about the loss of clientele for months which I think plays a tremendous part in its decline…you get what you focus on, right?  However, the dying of the establishment – just like anything else - could also be of “natural causes”.  When something or someone has lived its life, done what it needed to do, lost its passion or outgrown its usefulness….it dies, doesn’t it?  Sometimes we sense this and do what we can to “save it” but many times it’s just time to move forward and there really isn’t anything else to be done but let go.

When I broaden this observation, I can see that the same applies to my beliefs, systems and structures.  Sometimes it’s time to update and expand my vision.  There are many paradigms whose time has come.  Upon noticing, the question becomes how quickly can I release my attachment to the old belief?  How fast can I connect with that which is becoming?  How rapidly can I immerse myself in the excitement of creating and establishing new paradigms – updated paradigms – paradigms of a more truthful nature?  Or will I resist and battle ferociously for my limitations and the limitations of others?

In many ways, I sense this is part of the issue politically right now.  Many are having difficulty releasing old paradigms while embracing that which is emerging.  We forget to step back and take the time to observe what’s happening.  For example, it seems to me that the old paradigm and vision of American as white, male, heterosexual, Christian, etc. is transforming….not as in extinction but as in moving over to allow for the equal inclusion of “All that Is” – a more truthful representation of the incredible diversity more truthfully encompassed in, American.  We are beginning to update our paradigm to one more in alignment with the unalienable truths our nation was founded upon.  If we see equality, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness as the umbrella of the infinite – the One and Only – then perhaps it’s conceivable that every single possibility co-exists beneath it.  None is left out.  None is excluded.  Unalienable rights know no specific race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc.  None is threatened.  Each has the right to exist and be.

This updating of American will also cause the upgrading and birthing of systems and structures more in alignment with this expanded “definition” as well as a more enlightened understanding of equality, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  For me, it’s exciting to contemplate these changes.  For some, it may be horrifically frightening.  Nevertheless, our alignment with “something of a more truthful nature” is upon us….the awe-some power and beauty of Creation is beckoning…

Much love,

Beyond the "Mayan Cliff" - Yahoo!

Monday, December 24, 2012

Well, we’re still here!  We have survived the “Mayan Cliff”.  I don’t know about you but I am releasing many a “Yahoo!” and “Woohoo-kachoo”!  I feel like we’ve entered a time of great promise only limited by our self-created boundaries.

The past several years – and especially this last year in particular – have been marked with radical purification processes.  From politics to human-initiated tragedy to natural disasters and more, our hearts have been ripped open time and time again, making room for the love, light and promise of a new eon.

Last night, my partner and I hosted our weekly program - Daring to Live Outloud! - on Blog Talk Radio.  Our guests were 4 young women, ages 14 to 23.  The topic was “next steps” as we move forward after the shooting tragedy in Connecticut.  All I can say is “WOW….”  I smiled through the entire show.  Oddly, I felt an enormous sense of “relief”.  As I went a little deeper with this feeling, I realized it was coming from “relief” that the world was in such good hands.  In fact, tears are coming to my eyes now as I remember it.  I invite each of you to listen to the show if you haven’t.  (www.blogtalkradio.com; search: konsciouskonnection; click on the most recent show) It’s inspiring to hear such wisdom and authenticity in the voices of those whose time has come.

It becomes clear in listening to our young people that love, respect, communication and support for our uniqueness are among the guiding principles as we move forward into the new world beyond the “Mayan Cliff”.  The question becomes how do we create systems that support these principles?  The old systems do not.  Many of our current systems are based in shadow competition…right/wrong…. good/bad…and a “success” that is defined by forces outside ourselves.  It seems imperative that in order to assist with the prevention of tragic life-extinguishing violence initiated by those who feel excluded from the narrow definition of “acceptable”, we must expand our consciousness and celebrate the unique gift each human being is to this world.

I don’t know about you but I am absolutely ecstatic about the possibilities for 2013!  I wish each and every one of you a peaceful, relaxing and joyous end to the infamously transformational 2012 and an invigorating, love-filled, dream-made-manifest 2013.

Much love,

Karrie
